Socialize with other scuba divers. The Oakville Divers Vessel Orkney Isle dive the ship wrecks in clean and clear fresh water.
Oakville Divers has discovered dive sites and ship wrecks within the Oakville area of Lake Ontario, but our preferred ship wreck is the Jesse-Anne, a 100ft x 30ft barge resting upright at a depth of 60ft to the deck, 70ft to the clay, rock bottom.
Oakville Divers mooring makes it a safe and easy dive for all divers. Perfect for training, practice and exploration dives. Other Ship Wrecks include the Jeannette M, the Crash and Salvage, Tyger 3, and Patrol # 25 and we will add more as Team Oakville Divers discovers them.

Our Custom Dive Vessel 'Orkney Isle' has been our excellent dive platform for over 35 years of safe scuba training for thousands of scuba divers. Since the invasive species zebra mussels were introduced they have improved Lake Ontario West's underwater visibility.
We now operate weekly private local open water scuba , advanced , technical , specialties certifications and fun dives from Oakville Harbor. The Orkney Isle berth is 50 meters from the front door of our Oakville Divers Scuba Shop with free parking for our guest fun divers.
The Orkney Isle has is fully equipped with Radar, GPS, Oxygen for divers, steps of the back end to 8 inches from the water and easy safe entries, large dive deck, platform and ladder, room for all your dive goodies such as underwater photography cameras , underwater video housings , dive boxes, dive bags, dive lunch coolers, extra scuba tanks, pony tanks and redundant scuba bailout systems, Twin Tank technical rigs, Re breathers, All your dive gear.
Large dive benches for plenty of room to stretch your legs. Our large solid deck rides the waves in comfort, no wave pounding sore backs, no damaged dive gear. No cramped gear pile lots of space for comfort. A larger more stable dive vessel and platform for easy entries and exits. The Orkney Isle also has a washroom commonly known as a marine head on board [ no need to embarrass yourself on a little boat ].
Oakville Divers Boat Diving is far superior to shore diving or confined area quarry scuba diving for open water certification dives, scuba specialty dives and fun diving generally. Shore or quarry dives it can be difficult getting in and out of the water. Underwater visibility is often very poor. Parking close may be difficult. You may have to carry the dive gear a long way.
There can be a long surface swim out and back to reach the dive site. Oakville Divers has always used dive boats for ease and comfort of our, dive students and customers. Boat diving certifications are better for all students as they learn in real life open water dive conditions. Oakville Divers boat dives cause less stress on the diver loading up and getting the dive gear ready, easy entering and exiting the water, no long surface swims. Safe, fun and easy,

We typically go out scuba diving rain or shine. The only exception is lightening, large waves or extreme winds. Dive and Scuba Rental Credit will be offered for dives prepaid that have been canceled. If you are unsure, please call the scuba shop and we will let you know if we are going or not.
Also follow 'Rob's Rules' learn more about dive planning look up our main page in links and find the one marked weather. Look at the King City Radar it covers most of Ontario's weather for dive sites.
Then look up marine weather, Look up local weather at your home location and proposed dive site. When you arrive early go down to the harbor and visually check the conditions for your dive that day.
Now think about your dive plan and what are we going to be doing on this dive. 'Plan your Dive, Dive your Plan' a good habit to get into and practice while diving with Oakville Divers. Ask our resident diver Robert to help you out, he is always trying to get people to be better safer divers.
Thank You
